Stream TV grows in southern Russia

Comstar-UTSís pay-TV subscriber base is growing rapidly in the southern Russian city of Astrakan.

According to the company, Stream TV has 21,000 broadband Internet subscribers in the city at the end of Q1 2009, or 15.7% more than 12 months earlier, with all of them receiving pay-TV services.

Given that the company now has over 52,000 cable TV subscribers in the city, around 40% of them opt for double play services.
