Foxtel moves towards online TV

Australian pay-TV platform Foxtel has launched a new website offering some of its pay-TV content online but at the moment, only clips of its programming will be available.

The new site is “an exciting next step towards providing subscribers with a fully integrated online entertainment service where they can access their favourite Foxtel channels and shows from the PC,” said the company.

The subsequent step – full-length TV shows – will follow in October. For now, Foxtel subscribers will have to content themselves with video promos and clips showcasing over 60 shows, in full screen. The site will also provide recommendations as part of a 14-day online TV guide integrated with remote record to send instructions to record selected shows to Foxtel’s iQ PVR products.
