Zattoo offers premium HD in Germany

Internet television platform Zattoo has commenced streaming selected channels in high definition in Germany.

The offer currently comprises 21 channels, including DSF, MTV, VIVA, TIMM and CNN. In contrast to the standard definition version, which remains free of charge, the high definition service costs €2 per month, €5 for three months or €20 per year. During the introductory stage, users can trial Zattoo HiQ for one month without a fee.

A broadband internet connection with a data rate of at least 2 Mbit/s is necessary for accessing the HD offer. The high definition stream from DMAX is offered free of charge so that users can test whether the service can be received without disruptions.

Zattoo HiQ was launched in Switzerland last autumn. At the time, the company announced that the service would be introduced in further countries, including Germany.
