More than 9 million French households are now equipped with TV sets compatible with high definition TV, reports a new GfK/Médiamétrie study.
Over the last year, more than 3.8 million households have bought a HD TV set, which is representing a 70% growth. This trend can be explained by the growth of 16/9 TV sets, now preferred by 12.6 million households, which represents 47% of the total number of TV sets in France. In the same time, the number of flat TV sets have grown 14 percentage points over one year, to reach 11 million households and 44% of French TV sets.
In total, more than 26 million households own a TV set, which is 98.3% of French homes.
