BT Vision gets closer to half million subs

423,000 people now subscribe to BT Vision, the telco's hybrid Freeview-IPTV service.

BT, which plans to cut 15,000 jobs in a new drive to achieve significant cost savings, said revenues from the television service helped it offset dips in income generated from line rental and phone calls over the past year.

"90% of new customers took a [BT Vision] subscription package at the point of sale," the company revealed. "Customer viewing was an average of 30 views per subscriber in March."
