Vivendi could still buy Digital+
French media group Vivendi would be willing to study again a possible buyout of Sogecable's satellite pay TV operation Digital+, provided the operator met strategic and economic requirements, according to the company.
Vivendi last year presented a joint offer with Spain's main telco Telefónica to buy Digital+ at a much lower price than that Prisa, Sogecable's owner, was looking for. Prisa desperately needs to sell Digital+ because of its high debt.
In January, Prisa announced the offerings it had received did not fulfill its requirements. And last Thursday the company reached an agreement to postpone a €2,000 million loan repayment until March next year.
