blinkx sees continued growth

Online video search engine blinkx has posted a narrower full-year loss as revenue more than doubled on robust demand for its technology and said that it was confident of continued strong growth into 2010.
The company, which was incorporated in April 2007, said its user base expanded to 88 million visitors in March from 56 million in the same period last year.
For the year ended March 31st, loss from operations narrowed to $10.5 million, from $18.3 million for the period from April 23rd, 2007 through end-March 2008. Revenue totalled $13.9 million, up 113 per cent over the $6.5 million reported in the last financial year, which contained 49 weeks of trading, blinkx said.
"While the current macro market conditions mean we are maintaining a suitably cautious and conservative stance, the success of our targeted advertising products in 2009 makes us confident of continued strong growth into 2010," Chief Executive Suranga Chandratillake said.
