AT&T adds six high-def MTV channels to U-Verse TV


AT&T has added six new high-definition channels from MTV Networks to its IPTV service 'U-verse TV'.

The new channels are: MTV HD, VH1 HD, CMT HD, Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD and Spike HD. High-definition channels are available as part of the U450 programming package, or can be added to any other package for an additional US$ 10 per month. AT&T also offers the HD Premium Tier for an additional US$ 5 per month.

The new HD channels follow a recent expansion of the service's channel lineup to include more international programming and 100 or more high-defintion channels in every U-verse TV market.

AT&T reached 1.3mn subscribers for U-verse TV in the first quarter of this year, adding 284,000 customers in the three month period.
