by David Allen

BSkyB has agreed with US producer HBO for its big budget world war two follow up to the highly successful Band of Brothers that tracks the journey’s of three US marines, Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge and John Basilone.

The Pacific is a ten part series that BSkyB will be airing on Sky Movies. It is estimated that the cost of the of the production is around £128 million and has been filmed entirely in high definition.
Sky Movies will be showing each episode without advertising breaks, therefore explaining the reason why the series is being aired on Sky Movies and not Sky One.

The series has been produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, the same team who produced Band of Brothers and it will be aired during the spring of 2010, when it is expected to be a huge success.
