ANGA CABLE 2009 - COLOGNE. Unitymedia and Discovery Networks Deutschland have signed an agreement for distribution of Animal Planet and Discovery Channel.
The two channels will be part of a new ‘Digital Plus’ package to be offered from July onwards, with the cable operator regrouping its various digital tiers from that date.
The contract with Discovery is the first for a cable operator since a new distribution agreement with Premiere was announced. For the moment, Unitymedia has de facto exclusivity of Animal Planet, but other cable operators and platforms will follow suit.
