Eurobird 16 to offer greater choice

The deployment of Eutelsat’s Eurobird 16 at 16 degrees East is expected to provide a boon for DTH viewers in the former Yugoslavia and Balkan regions.

MPortal reports that the additional capacity will benefit such platforms as Serbia Broadband’s Total TV, which can be received in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, B&H and Montenegro, and Bulgaria’s ITV Partner.

Total TV, for instance, is likely to start offering Cinemax 2 and MGM Channel in al its markets once Eurobird 16 is up and running.

MPortal adds that Eurobird 16’s commercial deployment will probably take place in the second half of June.
