TF1 Vidéo and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the creation of a joint-venture company for the distribution and sales of DVD and Blu-Ray products on the French market.
The new entity, that will own a library of 6,000 titles, is hoping to be the video distribution leader in France. At the end of March 2009, the libraries of both companies reached 20% of French market.
Co-managed by Pierre Brossard, TF1 Vidéo CEO and Pascal Fauveau from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment SNC France, the new company will, however, exclude the acquisition, editing and marketing activities of both actors.
Among new titles to be released in 2009 are movie Terminator, TV series CSI (Blu-Ray format) as well as animation series Dora The Explorer.
