Channel 4 is to make its complete back-catalogue available for UK online viewing – and without charge.
Some 4000 hours of programming, representing almost 10,000 shows, will start flowing onto the station’s 4oD service from next month. However, imported shows, like Desperate Housewives will not be covered because of transmission restrictions.
Jon Gisby, director of future media and technology at Channel 4, said: "We are extremely proud of the new and improved service and think the combination of fantastic content that's easy to find and view will prove a compelling service for all users.
