TV Nova rides the storm

The leading Czech broadcaster TV Nova has given a generally positive assessment of its performance in the current economic crisis.
Speaking to E15, its business manager Jan Rehak said that the CME-owned company had managed to stabilise the TV market in the first half of this year by offering bonuses to media agencies in the form of free advertising space.
He also said that the effect of new digital channels such as TV Barrandov and Z1 had to date been negligible.
Rehak in addition said that a projection from OMD that the Czech TV ad market would contract by 27% this year “is slightly more pessimistic than our own perception” and confirmed that the internet “is a great priority for us, and we have invested considerable resources in it.”
