Banijay Entertainment, the group constituted by former Endemol France CEO Stéphane Courbit, has acquired 50% in German production company Brainpool.

Brainpool will continue to be managed by its shareholders Jörg Grabosch, Ralf Günther, Andreas Scheuermann. Fourth shareholder, Stefan Raab, is also one of Germany's most famous presenters, with his TV Total and Schlag den Raab programmes broadcast on Pro7/Sat 1 channels.

Brainpool brings together 16 companies active in three key sectors: production (entertainment and fiction), interactive and TV production services, and exclusive joint ventures with numerous performers, including Anke Engelke, Bastian Pastewka, Cindy aus Marzahn, Elton and Axel Stein.

Behind this acquisition and after the agreement with Spanish Cuarzo, Banijay Entertainment adds a tenth company to its group whose ambition is to become a key player on the international market.
