VTX Telecom launches IPTV tests
Swiss telco VTX Telecom has started testing a new IPTV service called 'VTX TV' in the cities of Basel and Pully, in the district of Lausanne.
The service offers over 100 channels, time-shift and PVR features, as well as a video-on-demand library, and is being provided in cooperation with power company Sierre Energie. Tests will run until the end of this year, and the service is being offered to customers of its ADSL2+ services free of charge. Once the tests are completed, VTX reportedly wishes to expand the service to other regions.
VTX Telecom serves around 100,000 customers, of which 25,000 are business customers and the remainder residential.
