Internet movie provider Netflix has inked a deal with Sony Electronics which will allow homes with Sony Bravia internet-capable high definition TV sets to access movies and TV episodes streamed from Netflix.

Netflix members on an unlimited internet access plan will be able to use their Bravia TV sets to instantly watch up to 12,000 movies and programmes, on-demand.

"Sony has been a world leader in consumer electronics for decades," said Netflix Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings. "We are proud to include Sony Electronics among our CE partners who continue to provide new and exciting ways for Netflix members to instantly watch movies and TV episodes in their living rooms on their TVs."

Back in January, Netflix signed a similar deal with LG Electronics. Other consumer electronics companies with deals with Netflix include Microsoft, for its Xbox360, Toku, Samsung, TiVo and Vizio.
