MTVNHD expands footprint

MTVNHD has secured further distribution in the UK, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland and Russia.

New launches have taken place on Deutsche Telekomís German IPTV platform T-Entertain; the Hungarian DTH operation Hello HD and Quickline, the newly launched Swiss IPTV network. Distribution on UK cablenet Virgin Media and the Russian DTH outfit Platforma will be added later in the month.

MTV Networks Internationalís high definition channel draws on content from both MTV and Nickelodeon. In 2009 alone, the total number of premiere hours will reach 443, including 291 native HD hours.

Since its launch in September 2008 MTVNHD, developed by the Warsaw-based emerging Markets group, has clocked up 21 countries worldwide (Argentina, Belgium, Caribbean Islands, Chile, Columbia, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Venezuela, Uruguay, and the UK & Ireland). A further eight countries including Austria, Brazil, Croatia, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal and Spain are expected to come on stream before by the end of the year.
