Total Sports Asia shoots for internet TV

Asian sports marketer Total Sports Asia (TSA) is launching an internet TV channel focusing on Asian sports and viewers but also targeted at “sports fans across the world”. The service is a partnership with video content management and delivery company Octopus Media Technology. will offer free video as well as paid-for streamed content. The service is launching on August 7 with live streaming and delayed content from the upcoming World Badminton Championships followed by US Open tennis.

Marcus Luer, Group CEO of Total Sports Asia, said: “We are very excited with the launch of our internet sports channel as it will give us a platform to fully exploit our vast sports rights and those of our clients to deliver content directly to the fans. The channel will also help our partners to commercialize much of their unsold internet rights. With the aid of Octopus, we are confident that will evolve into a “go-to” live video platform, offering access to content that was previously unavailable on the net.”
