ESPN has started test transmissions of its new standard definition and high definition channels on digital satellite.
On August 3, the sports channel will officially launch in SD and HD at 417 and 443 respectively on Sky's EPG.
It will broadcast the firm's English and Scottish Premier League games, as well as premium US and international sports coverage.
The HD channel placeholder can be located at 11856 V at a symbol rate of 29500 with a FEC of 3/4.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media has confirmed that it is still locked in negotiations with ESPN about also carrying the channel, with further announcements expected imminently.
