Germany’s third largest cable operator Kabel BW is preparing a pay-TV package for children. The bouquet, which will launch in August, will target viewers up to 13 years of age with commercial-free entertainment including movies, series, cartoons and shows as well as preschool and knowledge programmes.

Details regarding the channels on board the package will be announced at launch. At the beginning of July, Kabel BW conducted test transmissions for the new offer, which will be marketed under the name “Clever Kids”. Nick Premium, KidsCo, Bebe TV and Baby TV formed part of the trial.

In a few weeks, the Heidelberg-based company also wants to expand its packages offering foreign TV channels for ethnic minorities.
