New dates for next analogue switch off

Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce has made public the new dates for the next analogue switch offs. These will affect nine areas of the regions of Andalucía, Castilla y León and the Basque Country.

Regions included are part of the Phase 1 of the National Transition Plan to DTT. Once completed, this analogue switch off will affect more than one million Spaniards, with 5.3 million in total already getting only DTT TV signals.

The conditions are that digital coverage is at least at the same level as the analogue signal and that the level of connection of the citizens to the new technology is enough so the continuity of the service is garanteed. At present more than 3 million people receive exclusively digital signals.
