CNN and BBC allowed back into Zimbabwe

Probably the world’s best-known pair of broadcasters, CNN and the BBC, are being permitted to return to live broadcasting from Zimbabwe. They’ve been formally banned for the past 8 years.

Both news operations have carried out undercover video reports from Zimbabwe, usually mounted from nearby South Africa or Botswana. Zimbabwe has now lifted all TV restrictions on the pair. Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe lost its parliamentary majority last year in the national elections.
