Spain’s Telefónica had a combined total of 2.4 million subscribers to its pay-TV operations at the end of June, or 19.4% more than 12 months earlier.

In its home market, the telco had 609,534 pay-TV subscribers at the end of June, a 5.7% increase year-on-year, and its share of the pay-TV market stood at over 14%.

The total number of double and triple play bundles stood at 4.7 million, meaning that over 86% of the company’s retail broadband accesses were as part of a double or triple play offer.

Telefónica also has pay-TV interests in the Czech Republic (see separate story) and five Latin American countries.
The telco’s revenues in H1 2009 amounted to €27.588 billion, down from €28.149 billion in the corresponding period last year, while its OIBDA stood at €10.939 billion (€10.331 billion) and net income €3.619 billion (€3.593 billion).
