Orange signs VOD deal with TF1

Orange France has signed an agreement with TF1 Vidéo to make content from TF1 Vision, the TF1 Group's video-on-demand service, available via the on-demand library of Orange's IPTV service 'Orange TV', as also online via the Orange France website.

A selection of premium TF1 Vision content will be made available between now and the end of the year, including the latest seasons of US series such as Frimge, Lost, Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty; dramas and series from TF1 such as RIS and Paris Enquêtes Criminelles; exclusive shows from comedians such as Gad Elmaleh and Nicolas Canteloup; and French TV series Ushuaia. Certain flagship programmes are also expected to be made available on-demand before being shown on the linear TF1 channel.

The company reported yesterday that it had reached 2.339mn digital customers (served by IPTV and satellite TV services) in France by the end of June 2009, an increase of 68% from June last year, with 416,000 of those subscribers using its satellite TV services, and thus - implicitly, though not stated - 1.923mn customers served by its IPTV service.
