Mobi TV looking for Euro & Asia partners

MobiTV, which packages up TV programming for onward distribution by mobile phone companies is looking for more international relationships.

MobiTV’s CMO Ray de Renzo says the company in expanding internationally is looking to licence its technology to carriers rather than dealing direct with the public as it does in the US. He specifically mentioned Qualcomm’s MediaFLO.

De Renzo told Total Telecom, a trade mag, that MobiTV is currently talking to a German operator and is also interested in the Middle East and Asia, but it is likely that it will take another year before his content is available in these areas.

He added that Qualcomm's MediaFLO was especially interesting because it could combine its streaming video services with a broadcast service, and at the same time handle large demand during specific events, such as a football game.
