August 11, 2009Setanta to show Premier League games again
by David Allen
It has to be one of the greatest comebacks in satellite TV history, as the sports broadcaster Setanta could well have disappeared off the face of the planet after its UK division crashed and burned in spectacular style.
In the aftermath, the booty has been divided between the established satellite sports broadcaster Sky Sports and new to the UK sports broadcaster ESPN, the English and Scottish Premier League football live football matches being the most significant.
However, surprisingly and possibly out of the blue, it seems that Setanta Ireland has actually regained the rights to thirty three live matches from the English Premier League.
These live matches will be broadcast across Ireland, keeping the Irish sporting satellite dream alive for now.
