Spain wants to control Colombia DTT

Both France and Spain are vying to help build the digital-terrestrial TV network in Colombia.

The European DVB-T standard is fighting to be implemented in as many countries as possible. But the Japanese and the US standards are also using their own weapons to lead this technology worldwide.

On the DVB-T side Spain wants to lead the group of countries in Latin America but France is also interested in this business in that country.

Spanish representatives travelled to Colombia recently in order to present a proposal contemplating the design and build of the national DTT network. The project contemplates the use of specific equipment and services of engineering for this purpose. A group of Spanish entrepreneurs had already sent Colombia's Television National Comission the same proposal.

Now the ball is in Colombia's hands to decide which country it prefers to work with.
