Entertainment, emotion top TF1 schedules

For this new season, French leading private network TF1 aims at remaining a broadcaster whose programming is based on “diversity, events and sensibility”. TF1 CEO Nonce Paolini expressed this goal at a press meeting on Wednesday, after a previous season under strain with ratings and ad revenues decreasing. Since July 2008, TF1’s ratings have been hovering at around a 25 % market share.

Beside additional news magazine, dramas with more regional settings and reality TV shows based on solidarity and self-challenges will be the main elements of the coming schedules, along with sport.

Following the success of Endemol’s summer format Secret Story, TV reality shows will for instance offer The Farm Celebrity, shot in South Africa, as well as a French version of Australian format Battle of the Choirs.
