France 3 daily soap in argument

France 3’s hit evening daily soap Plus Belle La vie is at the heart of an argument between production comany Telfrance and France Télévisions. If no agreement is found, this successful 8pm soap set in Marseille could go to M6 next year, reports French press.

Taken over in 2008 by media investor Fabrice Larue for a €100 million price, prodco Telfrance is currently trying to raise the annual production budget by 50%, wanting to pass from €24 million and a 2% growth a year, to €40 million.

Reportedly interested, M6 could make profit from the arm-wrestling. France Télévisions is studying the way to legally avoid such an outcome.
