Ziggo, Hollandís largest cable operator, has started to make CI Plus CAMs available to its customers. The SMiT Secure Plus CAM will be the first batch of CAMs deployed into Ziggo market.

The Secure Plus CAM is fully compliant with the standard of CI Plus Specification V 1.2, which is specified by the CI Plus Forum. Certified by Irdeto, SMiT successfully got approval from Ziggo after meticulous large-scale field tests. Ziggo said it is the first cable operator in the world to commercially deploy the CI Plus standard.

Called the Digitale Televisie Module by Ziggo, the CI Plus CAM allows owners of integrated digital TV sets, which have a slot for a CAM, to receive the cable signals without the need of an additional set-top box. The regular remote control from the TV set can continue to be used.

SMiT, Shenzhen State Micro Technology Co.Ltd, is an international high-tech company, with development and sales offices in the US, Shenzhen and Beijing, China, and a support centre in Frankfurt, Germany.
