France : 19m broadband homes

According to latest figures released by telecom regulatory body Arcep, 18.67 million households in France subscribed to broadband services at the end of June. This notably included 17.62 million subs to ADSL services.

Over one year, the number of broadband subs went up 12%, representing 2 million households.

More then 5.66 million households have given up a France Télécom phone subscription to favour alternative ungrouped offers from Free and SFR-Neuf Cegetel. Both operators covered 75% of the population at the end of June.
