Viaccess and Opentech team up to secure ART pay-TV platforms for the middle eastern market - 04/09/2009
Paris – Viaccess, a France Telecom company, leader in conditional access and Opentech, a korean company that produces digital set-top box technology announced today their joint agreement with ART (Arab Radio and Television Network), the leading broadcaster of premium Arabic family programming and entertainment worldwide,to secure ART Pay TV satellite platforms in the middle east region.
In the next coming months, ART and VIACCESS are going to deploy Opentech MPEG-4 SD set-top-boxes (STB) and the Praha Card (Proactive Against Hacker Attacks), one of the leading conditional access systems which is proactive against card sharing and enables hacker attack analysis.
In addition of the Praha card deployment, ART has also decided to launch several other Viaccess features aimed to further reinforce the contents security. Based on more than 10 years of experience in the deployment of security system, Viaccess secured loader proposed the most advanced solution to secure STB software dowloaded. Designed to be independent from STB OS, Chipset and Middleware, Viaccess Secured loader offers a flexible solution to update STB software over IP or traditional TV networks (cable, DTT, satelitte). Securing its pay-TV content is key for ART. The broadcaster secured rights for the middle east region to televise 2010 World Cup soccer to take place in South Africa and expects to grow the number of its subscribers for one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.
