Philips prepares to launch wireless HDMI

by David Allen

The electronics firms Phillips is launching a wireless HDMI that will allow satellite TV users to hide their set top boxes from view.

As seen at the IFA event in Berlin, Germany, the device will stream any device such as a Blu-ray player or satellite set top box across the room.
This saves having these devices piled up on top of each other collecting dust and with a mass of cables to hide.

Unfortunately, according to Phillips, this technology will not be bound for the UK for some time, but when it does arrive in the UK users will be able to place set top boxes and other equipment up to twenty metres away.
The downside is the price of the kit, which is currently being priced at 525 for the pack, which includes two digital HDMI kits.
