Ball inches closer to ITV top job

It could have been as chanted by Cuba Gooding Jnr, when he yelled to Tom Cruise, “Show me the money”. But evidently Tony Ball, a former CEO at BSkyB, is now the only candidate to run ITV, the UK’s commercial network. However, financial terms are still being finalised.

The ITV board is meeting today (Sept 15) and it is expected that ‘white smoke’ will ratify a provisional deal reached by Sir James Crosby, ITV’s senior non-executive director, last Friday. Quoted sources say the compensation gap was not that wide.
