Russia will end this year with around 13.5 million homes, equivalent to 23% of the total, receiving pay-TV. Furthermore, according to data published by Cableman, the figure should rise to 15 million homes next year.

The focus in the pay-TV will turn increasingly towards the provision of such additional services as PPV and VOD. There are also likely to be more la carte offers appearing, as well as channels broadcasting over the internet. T

he telco sector is meanwhile likely to see more consolidation, leading to the market being dominated by 3-4 brands by 2011.
