Tivu Sat expects 300,000 by year end

The Italian free-to-view DTH platform expects to have 300,000 households by the end of this year. By the end of next year, there should be over 1 million homes.

The platforms, which is jointly owned by Rai, Mediaset and La7 (Telecom Italia Media) broadcasts all the terrestrial channels and is aimed at people outside the DTT footprint.

At the moment some 25,000 smart cards have been activated and daily between 800 and 1,000 new cars are added, according to TiVU president Luca Balestrieri.
