Portugal Telecom adds new educational content to Meo Kids

Portugal Telecom has launched a new area on 'Meo Kids', the children's element of its pay-TV service 'Meo', featuring exclusive new educational content aimed at Meo's youngest users, as well as a new user interface for Meo Kids.

The new area, called 'Aprender' ('Learn'), offers content on Portuguese, Mathematics, History and Culture, Art and Technology, aimed at children aged from six to ten years old. The new educational content for Mathematics and Portuguese is divided into school years, and as a whole the new content is the result of a partnership with the company Conquerer, and has been revised and approved by the National Teachers Association.

Meo is available via IPTV (ADSL or fibre), satellite and mobile, offering around 120 live broadcast channels, over 2,000 video-on-demand titles and a number of advanced features. Portugal Telecom added 59,000 subscribers to its pay-TV service 'Meo' in the second quarter of this year to reach 443,000 customers by the end of June.
