MTS Allstream launches MTS Ultimate TV in Brandon

Canadian telco MTS Allstream has launched its new IPTV service 'MTS Ultimate TV' in the city of Brandon (Manitoba province), based on Alcatel-Lucent technology and the Microsoft Mediaroom platform.

The new service gives customers access to Whole Home PVR features, including the ability to record up to three broadcast channels at once, as well as an extensive lineup of over 250 television and music channels, including 30 high-definition channels, and an interactive programme guide.

"The launch of the MTS Ultimate TV Service in Brandon is an extension of our ongoing investment and commitment to bring our most advanced services to customers," said Kelvin Shepherd, President Consumer Markets at MTS Allstream. "It's the first service in Canada to provide a PVR that records up to three TV programs at once while giving customers a high-quality and feature-rich digital TV experience. Not only do customers get an innovative product through our strategic agreements with industry leaders Alcatel-Lucent and Microsoft, but customers will also receive our fastest Internet speeds available."

MTS Ultimate TV is available in most areas of Portage La Prairie and Brandon, and a growing number of areas in Winnipeg.
