Pace ready to use Rovi tools

The UK-based set top box maker, Pace, will be using the Rovi Connected Platform in its next generation of set top boxes that are to be made for cable, satellite and other providers in the US.

Rovi and Pace have been collaborating together for some time and this is just one development to come from this partnership.

The Rovi Connected Platform contains a package of standardised tools and designs.

The purpose of this is so that other manufacturers within the industry will be able to customize their own digital home entertainment equipment.

What the kit contains is a source code development kit, player, server software applications and a customisable user interface.

It was back in 2007, when Pace first added the integrated media player and media software from Rovi, allowing content to be viewed in any room.
