Sky+ saves Saturday night viewing blues

There have been some very heated debates over the Saturday evening scheduling of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and the ITV talent show The X Factor, as both shows clashed, forcing viewers to choose one or the other.

According to BSkyB, over two million fans of both shows who subscribe to the Sky+ service, chose to watch one show and record the other at the same time.

Despite the high number of people recording the shows, 9.3 million viewers watched The X Factor and 7.7 million watched the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing at the scheduled time.

According to BSkyB, around 1.2 million decided to record The X Factor, while around 700,000 chose to record the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

It is a great demonstration of how Sky+ can make viewing decisions so much easier.
