SRT 4620xii Dongle Help

I have just purchased a Strong SRT 4620xii receiver & a dongle.
The dongle is a little black box with an rs323 connector & a network connector.

At the moment I can watch Showtime (nilesat) & Nova Greece (Hotbird) on it.
The person who sold me the dongle told me that every x amount of months I need to buy a new dongle. This doesn't make any sense to me because at the moment there is a network connection I am sure that certain things can be updated and changed.
I just wanted to know the following:
1) Will I need to buy a new dongle every time keys & frequencies get changed?
2) Is it possible to put other packages on my receiver like Sky Italia?

I am new to all of this so if anyone has a step by step instruction manual on how to update the dongle & add new keys I will really appreciate it.

I have exactly the same and i heard that it can be reprogrammed. BTW my dongle doesn't have network connection only USB and RS232

what is name your dongle?

if it is microbox or Y5&Y6 ? yes it is possible for update

no need to network!! it is update whit rs232 cable and loader for last frimwear (donot recomment whit usb)
