RTVE President Luis Fernandez resigns

Despite earlier denials, Luis Fernandez, the President of Radio Televisión Española (RTVE), has announced his resignation on Spanish TV. Mr Fernandez was due to hold a council meeting on Friday, where presumably he was going to present his resignation, but instead made the announcement on Tuesday evening. Mr Fernandez is the first president of the public broadcaster elected by Parliament in 2007.
