##طريقة تحويل الفرتاك ultra الى PAnsat 2500A و العكس ##
Converting the Pansat 2500A to a Fortec Ultra and Vice Versa
شعارنا لا للاحتكار
Since the Pansat 2500A and the Fortec Lifetime Ultra are internally
identical receivers, it is possible to
convert one receiver to the other by simply downloading the .bin file for
the other and using the other’s
remote control.
Pansat Remote 2500A
There are a few reasons for converting a working Pansat 2500a to a Fortec
Lifetime Ultra or vice versa.
The primary would be the case when the .bin for one receiver is not
working and the .bin for the other is.
Another may be that one prefers one remote control to the other or,
maybe, one just likes the look or feel
of one better than the other.
Another reason would be to use the “Closed-Caption” feature of the Ultra,
since “Closed Caption” is not
supported by the Pansat 2500A. However, Closed-Caption is not fully
functional with the current .bin
because of receiver limitations. A faster processor and additional memory
are required to process and
buffer the Closed-Caption data. Closed-Caption cannot be fully
implemented simply by modifying the
.bin alone. For any practical use, it does not work. This information
paraphrased from Sweepers:
When testing on "good" Closed-Caption channels (PBS, CNN, A&E, etc.), the
Closed-Caption
was active but at times was slow to respond or did not respond at all. It
often missed entire
sentences or displayed gibberish. Sometimes it would seem to work for a
few minutes and
then switch to gibberish. Thus, Closed-Caption on the Fortec Lifetime
Ultra is useless. For
testing purposes, two computers with ATI AIW Pro AGP cards, a Toshiba 39"
TV and a RCA
29" TV were used. Composite video, S-Video, and channel 4 input methods
were tested.
The receiver’s processor chip is capable of outputting the Closed-Caption
stream if it is
present, but it appears additional circuitry is necessary, such as a
buffer stage to regulate the
data. Perhaps with the next era of software updates this will improve,
but that is not realistic.
The Pansat 2500A to Fortec Lifetime Ultra Conversion
Note: You will need to use the Fortec Lifetime Ultra remote after the
conversion. As newer .bins come
out, you may have to experiment with different Loaders and STB Model
entries until you find one that
will flash the Ultra .bin to the Pansat 2500A.
