VOI re-launches to provide viewers with “just news”
Voice of India (VOI) the 24-hour TV news channel that shut abruptly back in August this year is now back with a new look and revived aspirations. VOI has been re-launched this morning with the broadcast of a live bulletin. Initially started by Triveni Media Limited (TML), a new broadcasting firm, VOI was launched early in 2008. Later, the ownership of the channel witnessed a change with Amit Sinha buying it.
The channel now seeks to re-position itself in the cluttered Indian news channel segment with content focused on “just news”. “This time we will do our branding with our tag line “Sirf Khabbarien” (Only News),” said Amit Sinha, the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, VOI.
