Spain’s pay-TV subscribers “most satisfied”
Viewers who subscribe to pay-TV are the most satisfied viewers in Spain.
According to research from Conect, the association for the implementation and promotion of the Spaniard thematic channels, the study found that the ideal TV for Spanish viewers would be that provided by pay-TV broadcasters.
However, there is perhaps a problem with the data given that there is little more than 4m subscribing homes out of 46 million inhabitants. Nevertheless, the report says pay-TV viewers are ‘most satisfied', equal to 81% of those asked, and also that 42% of those surveyed say they will continue to pay for TV and that just 6% say they will cancel their subs.
There's little doubt that the big driver of pay-TV and the thematic channels are the perceived quality content available. Maite Rodríguez a Conect representative, says "with DTT programming the way it is now the pay-TV market is not under threat".
