that manipulation will erase from the memory all the channels data, the receiver will restart with no channel data, if it's only a bug in the memory of the receiver, that tip will resolve it, then rescan for the channel on the satellite that you want, if nothing work after all that, better to took this receiver to a technician, because in this case it's not a firmware problem, good luck for your friend !
