Arabsat to launch Badr-5 this week

Satellite operator Arabsat has announced that its latest satellite Badr-5 will be launched on June 3 from Baykanour, Kazakhstan.

Badr-5 will provide services to the Arab world and neighboring regions via Ku- and Ka-band beams from 26° East. Another satellite, Badr-5a, will launch in the second half of June and will be placed at 30.5° East to cover Africa and large parts of Asia, in addition to the Arab world.
