Das Unternehmen Slysoft hat wieder eine verbesserte Version seines Kopierschutzknackers "AnyDVD" vorgestellt, und ärgert damit die Lizenzanbieter von Spielfilmen. Wie der Softwarespezialist am Mittwochmorgen (Ortszeit) in Antigua mitteilte, wurde das Tool in Version 6.8.7 zum Download bereitgestellt.
Verschiedene Änderungen gehen mit der Überarbeitung einher, von neuen DVD- und Blu-ray-Filmen mit einem veränderten auf Java und "BD+" basierenden Schutzmechanismen lassen sich private Sicherheitskopien ziehen, auch Bugs beim Handling von DVDs und Bluray wurden entfernt.
Die Slysoft-Software entfernt mit einem speziellen Systemtreiber on-the-fly sämtliche verbraucherfeindlichen DRM-Verfahren eingelegter Medien. Damit lässt sich auf DVD- oder Blu-ray-Scheiben im Datei-Browser zugreifen, als ob ein Kopierschutz nicht vorhanden wäre.
Das Update ist für registrierte Kunden kostenfrei, es spielt keine Rolle welche Version zuvor installiert war. AnyDVD kostet für neuere Kunden inzwischen ein jährliches Entgelt, weil die Pflege aufwändiger geworden ist.
Das Tool darf in Deutschland aufgrund gesetzlicher Regelungen nicht angeboten werden, eine Verlinkung zieht inzwischen aber keine juristischen Konsequenzen mehr nach sich. Digitale Kopien von Filmmedien mit Kopierschutz sind nach einer umstrittenen Novellierung des Urheberrechts inzwischen verboten. Die Regelung gilt auch für selbst erworbene Spielfilme, die sich somit nicht mehr legal in digitaler Ursprungsqualität auf einem zentralen Media-Server oder einem Media-Player ablegen lassen. Statt dessen muss ein analoger Weg über Werkzeuge wie "TuneBite" beschritten werden, um die Inhalte zu digitalisieren und dem Gesetzgeber Genüge zu tun.
