Zhirkov told to stay put
Blues boss insists Russian is not leaving
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed suggestions that Russia international Yuri Zhirkov will be allowed to leave the club.
The left-sided ace moved to Stamford Bridge last year when Chelseapaid CSKA Moscow
just short of £20million.
He featured in 17 league games last term, but that was mainly due to an injury to Ashley Cole, and this season he has only played in the Community Shield.
Zhirkov'slack of action has seen him linked with a move back to Russia, but Ancelotti
insists he will not be sold.
"I don't need to speak with him about the future," said Ancelotti, who will start with Zhirkov against MSK Zilina on Wednesday night.
"That is because his future is here with Chelsea. He is a good player.
"He knows in this club, in the top teams, there is a lot of competition to play and for this reason, he has to improve.
"But I think that he will have the possibility to play a lot of games this year, because we are involved in a lot of competitions. We need to have all the players fit and ready to play."
